Given the circumstances, my actions were completely justifiable. Desperate times call for desperate measures (blah blah blah) ..... a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.... ! I could come up with a dozen more cliches but I will instead show some consideration for your nerves and refrain.
To get the portrait you want sometimes you just have to bribe your subjects with bits of your cheese quesadilla lunch!!!! You will not always have those subjects who smile nicely at the camera and wag their tail without at least a bit of persuasion. Trying to keep their attention or feed them (and oh ya... get the picture) makes me feel a bit like a circus clown... but I am determined to remain the clown with the happy face vs. the weeping alternative. :)
These doggy eyes were begging to be developed in black and white... searching your sweet soul with their eyes saying "more quesadilla please!" Color images capture the imagination but B&W capture the heart. It's something about seeing the world minus color that can slow down our pace and make us really look long and close. So quirky and lovable these images somehow found their way onto my blog for your enjoyment or amusement. Feel free to share because the subjects both signed model releases ;) woof!
P.S. These are the test shots from my new and lovely camera!
My sweet puppy Miya realizes that the most feminine pose is looking over her shoulder. She has lived in a family of photographers for to long. :)
Miya jumping up and reaching for her share of the food.
Darcy licking her lips in anticipation
Miya following suit
Yes I know... she kind of looks like she was just punched in the face.... but it's hilarious!
